FUN SHOW REPORT:
Our Spring Fun Show was a big success!  I do believe everyone had a great time!  We had several new exhibitors out for their first time having fun with their horses, several show veterans, signed up several new club members, and made a little money for the club too!  It was a beautiful day, and, if you weren’t there, so sorry you missed it!  Attached is a complete Winner’s List!
We had 15 farms exhibiting 25 horses with 76 entries.
This show would not have been possible without the monetary donations made by:
Randy Price – who gave generously in memory of his beloved wife, Becky.  She will be sadly missed by everyone in our draft horse world.
Renon Pruiett – our most Honored Judge who donated his time and services so everyone could have a great day!
Claudia Oliver – her first time exhibiting with our club – Claudia & Duke were just awesome! – I expect to be seeing a lot of them at shows in the future!
Robert & Jill Malone – who gave a donation and also came to the aid of a new exhibitor who needed help with their horse!  Thanks for being there with your knowledge and supplies.
Thank you so much to the following show personnel:
Renon Pruiett – Judge
Johnny Cannon – Ringmaster
Ed Hawkins – Announcer
Julie Lanning – Ribbons/Office Support
John Ayers – Show Support

Rodney & Barbara Branch – Set-up, Management & Judging of Obstacle Courses
Lynn Johnson – Loud Speaker System
You were all awesome!  It’s folks like you that make our Draft Horse World Go Around!
I also want to announce two Honorable Mention Awards!
One goes to:  Michelle Whiten on Journey!  You had the fastest time of all the Obstacle Course entries for the entire day!  Way to Go!
One goes to:  Patty & Art Ferrell!  Well, you two were having the most fun there!  Your smiles all day long were a joy to see!  Folks like you are exactly what this is all about!
Thanks again to all exhibitors for your participation and support with your entry fees!  Can’t wait to see you ALL at Perry!
Rebecca Cannon, Show Secretary

CAN YOU SOLVE THIS PUZZLE?
You are riding on a beautiful white horse.
On your left side is a drop off.
On your right side are several ostriches being chased by a lion.
In front of you are four large gazelles that won't get out of your way and you can't seem to overtake them.
Behind you is a stampede of horses.
What must you do to get out of this highly dangerous situation?
For the answer see back page.

Things You Learn When You Own A Horse – Part 2

17. If you think you have left the water on in the barn you have, if you think you have closed the pasture gate, you haven't.
18. When someone asks you if you like their horse always say 'yes'.
19. The happiest people I know own horses, dogs, cats and at least one deranged goat.
20. If you're looking for the perfect horse you will never own one.
21. Owning a horse can either make a marriage or break it.
22. I'd rather lose my lipstick than my curb chain.
23. You shouldn't talk about your first place ribbon to someone that came second.
24. If someone says that horse has a little buck, it has a BIG buck.
25. If we need rain, schedule a show.
26. I've never warmed up to someone that didn't want a walk down to the stables.
27. A clean stable and a sparkling horse are among life's great pleasures.
28. Even free horses can be too expensive. Especially, free horses.
29. No matter how badly behaved you are, your horse always gives you a second chance.
30. A more expensive horse doesn't make a better one.
31. I will never ever have an empty stable and I have accepted that fact.
32. Losing a horse can break your heart, but it will have been worth it.
If you can’t imagine your life without a horse…DON’T!
